on the Certified Premium Pellets (CPP) label

The launch of the new CPP pellet label was marked by the founding of the Certified Premium Pellets e. V. quality association in June 2025 by leading pellet manufacturers in Germany and Austria. The quality mark combines certified quality with local production.

It is awarded to wood pellets that meet higher quality standards than those set out in the DIN EN ISO 17225-2 standard and are produced regionally from waste materials with a specified carbon footprint – independently tested and certified.

CPP therefore stands for the use of 100 per cent by-products and residues in accordance with the SURE system principles, and for regional production within a 200 km radius. Against the backdrop of rising expectations from consumers and policymakers regarding the energy supply of the future, the Certified Premium Pellets label will highlight these benefits even more clearly, in order to strengthen wood energy for the future!
